According to WBBH NBC2 in Florida, a former Cape Coral preschool worker was arrested after police found 50 pictures and 23 videos of child pornography on his laptop. Skyler Hann, 20, used to work at Small Wonders Pre-School at Grace Church, and the Austen Youth Center.
Investigators were tipped off about the crime after his roommate found the images on Hann’s laptop when they borrowed it for school. The roommate told police he was disgusted by what he saw, so he reported it. When police started investigating, they said they found dozens of images on Hann’s laptop showing pre-pubescent children naked, engaging in sex acts. Some of the children were as young as 5 years old.
In April 2017, the city honored Hann with a “Do the Right Thing” award. In the press release, officials said: Hann told police he started looking at child pornography when he was a teenager.
He made his first appearance in court Thursday morning, facing possession of child pornography charges. He was given a $10,000 bond and was ordered no contact with minor and no use of internet, according to police. Hann bonded out Thursday.
According to nationally recognized sex abuse attorney Jeff Herman, “Parents place their trust in schools to keep their children safe. These schools must be held accountable.”
