BRIGHT HORIZONS DAYCARE WORKER AT CREATIVE BEGINNINGS CHILD CARE CENTER ACCUSED OF MOLESTING A 4-YEAR-OLD CHILD.
BERN TOWNSHIP, PA (Reading Eagle) – A daycare worker was arrested Friday on charges of indecent assault against a 4-year-old boy at a facility in Bern Township.
Andrew McCollin, 33, Berwick, Columbia County, was also charged with corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of a child, said county detectives. He was committed to Berks County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail after arraignment before District Judge Brian K. Strand, whose office is in the township.
According to Berks County detectives:
Detectives were contacted Monday after a 4-year-old boy said his genitals were touched by a teacher at Creative Beginnings Child Care Center at 2390 Bernville Road, which is part of the Bright Horizons group.
The boy identified the teacher as “Mr. Andrew” and also said the teacher rubbed his back under his clothing. When asked how many times this happened, the boy said “plenty.”
Detectives interviewed McCollin, and he admitted to touching the victim on more than one occasion. McCollin surrendered to detectives Friday. Detectives are still investigating McCollin. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 610-478-7171.
