Archdiocese of New Orleans removes two priests under sexual abuse allegations

Two priests have been removed from its ministry at the Archdiocese of New Orleans as of yesterday, due to allegations of child sex abuse.

Reverend Patrick Wattigny was accused of  sexually abusing  a child back  in 2013. His name will be added to the list of the Archdiocese of New Orleans Clergy Abuse Report.

The second priest, Reverend Travis Clark, was accused of obscenity with women, an although his  charge  is not related to sexually abusing  a minor, his conduct ws not tolerated. Fr. Clark was serving as pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul in Pearl River.

Please pray for all those affected, especially the parishioners of the parishes and school communities where they have served.,” Archbishop Gregory Aymond said.

Archdiocese of New Orleans must do ‘immediate outreach so that parishioners are aware of the abuse and other victims are encouraged to come forward.’ according a statement by SNAP New Orleans.
