The first female sex abuse victim of the late University of Michigan physician Dr. Robert Anderson will come forward this week to share her story publicly.
Dr. Robert Anderson, now deceased, has been accused of sexually abusing hundreds of student athletes spanning decades during his time employed at the University of Michigan.
University of Michigan has been investigating the sex abuse allegations since February. Sex abuse allegations claiming that former sports doctor Robert Anderson, who worked for the university from 1967 to 2003 have helped dozens of men have the courage to come forward.
Cathy Kalahar, who was a freshman in 1973 on the University’s first women’s varsity tennis team had this to say:
“I’m very confident that it was him because of the level of his rudeness and what I read in the other reports. It fits what happened to other people in terms of what, I’d have to say, cruelty,”.
Kalahar says she confided in a psychological counselor a few months after the abuse took place and was told that her concerns were “sexual fantasy.”
