Diocese of Raleigh Accused Priests

The Diocese of Raleigh is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church that covers the eastern portion of North Carolina, consisting of 75 parishes. In 2018, the Diocese released a list of credibly accused individuals who allegedly sexually abused children within the Diocese. This list covers individuals credibly accused from 1950 to the present.

Throughout this time period, the Diocese of Charlotte made settlements for misconduct charges totaling $2,972,750. However, all payments came from insurance proceeds, not directly from the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, the Cathedral Campaign, or any parish deposits.

As of March 31, 2021, the following list contains the following credibly accused individuals, along with the year the alleged abuse occurred and when the victim reported the abuse to the Diocese of Raleigh:

The Diocese of Raleigh claims to have been taking steps to attempt to prevent child sexual abuse since 2002. In 2002, the Diocese enacted several measures in response to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops meeting to discuss the sex abuse scandal.

The Diocese also has a page on its website where victims can report sexual abuse or suspected abuse.
