A former policeman employed at Winthrop University and Clover is in prison for child sex abuse crimes and is now charged with kidnapping in addition to approximately 50 more charges involving multiple child victims.
Charles Eugene “Chuck” Price, 48, was served this week with additional charges, including kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct against minors in the first, second, and third-degrees.
The charges against Price of sexual abuse with children date back to the early 2000’s and allegedly took place for more than a decade. In one case, Chuck Price is accused of handcuffing and kidnapping a child and there are several other child victims.
Price has been held without bond in the Lancaster County jail, and will return back to the York County jail where the new charges were served.
Price, a former sergeant at the Winthrop police department that handles public safety at the college in Rock Hill, was fired from Winthrop after his first arrest.
Randy Grice, Clover Police chief, confirmed that Price was an officer at the Clover Police Department from 2014 through 2016.
