Died at age 53 in 3/02. In 11/08 a 21-year-old man filed suit against the bishop and diocese, alleging that Bonin sexually abused him weekly 1998-2001, when the man was ages 9-12. The man first made his allegations known in 2007. A second person also alleged abuse. In 4/09 the NY Supreme Court denied diocese motion to dismiss. Diocese included Bonin’s name on 6/7/12 list of priests removed between 2002 and 2010.

Gormley admitted to molesting a boy in 1966 and other boys in the 1950s and 1960s. He took a leave of absence in 1969, left the priesthood two years later and married. Problems were know prior to ordination and he was in therapy for 30 years. In 1993 he apologized to 1966 victim after chance encounter. This man filed civil suit in 1993 and later settled for $70K. Suit filed in 8/19 under the NY Child Victims Act by a man alleging sexual abuse as a boy by Gormley 1965-68.

Gramkee previously admitted that he had “engaged in an inappropriate relationship” and had undergone counseling. Accused in a lawsuit filed 2/19/20 of sexually abusing a male student in the early 2000s at Siena Catholic Academy in Brighton and St. Thomas More Church. The abuse allegedly began in 2002 when the boy was age 12, and continued into the next year. Grasso denied the allegations. V.A. chaplain in Albany since 2008.

Accused in a 2/03 lawsuit of sexually abusing a boy in 1979. Hammond was director of the Catholic youth summer program at the boy’s parish. Same accuser and and three others also alleged that they were abused by Rev. Albert Cason. Per 2002 Catholic Directory, Hammond was “unassigned.” Bishop placed Hammond under restrictions pending investigation. Resigned from his last post in 2000 for “personal reasons not related to any criminal activity.” Sentenced to life of prayer and penance, per diocese in 6/12. Accused in a lawsuit filed in 8/19 under the NY Child Victims Act of abusing a boy, age 12 or 13, between 1972 and 1974. The suit also alleges abuse of “multiple other children.”

Accused in a lawsuit filed in 8/19 under the NY Child Victims Act of sexually abuse, including rape, of a boy, ages 8-12, who resided at St. Joseph Villa in the 1970s. Hanna was chaplain at the home 1946-77. Per Hannah’s accuser, a Sr. Betty discovered blood in the boy’s underwear underwear, beat him and sent him back to Hanna for confession. Hanna died 1/9/06 at age 97. The same accuser alleged in a separate lawsuit that he was also brutally abused at age 16 in 1981 by a man who ran a church youth program, Dan Charcholla.

Assignments included Holy Cross School and St. Bonaventure College in Newfoundland, Canada, All Hallows, Cardinal Hayes and Bishop Kearney High Schools, Iona College, Bishop Henricksen High School, Guadalupe Regional Middle School, Los Hermanos Community and Centro Juan Diego- St. Leo Parish, Christian Brothers Central Harlem Community and St. Joseph Residence. Removed as a teacher and drama director at Bishop Kearney High School in Rochester, New York for sexually abusing a female student beginning in the late 1960s. She filed suit in 1994. She said he attacked her for years and left her unable to have children. Dismissed by Court and appealed to NY Supreme Court, Appellate Division. Dismissed. Listed by the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers in 2014 as accused by at least two persons in claims settled in bankruptcy proceedings. Heathwood died 12/7/16.

Hogan’s name was one of eight released in 6/18 by Attorney Mitchell Garabedian of priests accused of sexually abusing children. A 71-year-old woman stated in 6/18 that Hogan sexually abused her at ages 15-16 in 1962-63, while he was assigned to St. Gregory in Marion. She said her mother wrote and called the diocese to report the abuse, but nothing was done. The woman also said a classmate told her that Hogan had also molested her and that her reports to the diocese were ignored. Hogan retired in 1965 and died 6/1/85. Lawsuit filed in 9/19 under the NY Child Victims Act.

Allegation to the diocese in 2018 that Nadeau violently sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl in 1977 at St. Margaret Mary School in Irondequoit, where Nadeau was principal in 1977-85. Nadeau’s accuser said the nun dragged her by the ear to the principal’s office, slapped her face, knocked her into a wall, straddled her when she fell and yelled “You’re a slut” and “Your’re inviting rape and you’re going to get raped,” then reached under her skirt and penetrated her. The diocese’s victims’ reconciliation program deemed the allegations “completely credible,” and Nadeau’s accuser was offered a settlement. Nadeau retired at some point to her Order’s motherhouse in Wilton, CT. Reported in 3/19 to have advanced dementia and to be living a nursing facility. Accused in a 7/20 lawsuit of sexually assaulting a boy, also a St. Margaret Mary student.

O’Malley appeared in the 1973 film, “The Exorcist.” In 2019 he 87 is living at Fordham University’s Murray-Weigel Hall. A 7/20 lawsuit claims abuse of a McQuaid student in 1975 or ’76. Per the Fordham University newspaper in 12/20, O’Malley was removed from Murray-Weigel after he was accused.

Over a 44-year career, Sundholm was assigned to six parishes in Rochester. He retired to St. Petersburg, FL in 1999. In 11/09 his privileges were removed by Rochester after allegations that he sexually abused a minor in the mid-1970s while assigned to St. Salome in Irondequoit, 1974-1982. Review board found allegations to be credible and matter was sent to Vatican. Per the Rochester diocese in 10/18, Sundholm died in 2017, before the canonical process could be completed.

Accused in a lawsuit filed in 7/20 of sexually abusing a McQuaid Jesuit High School student in 1980. The suit also claims the same student was abused by McQuaid teacher, John Tobin. Prior to his brief stint as a McQuaid faculty member, Untereiner taught at Fordham Prep in NY and, after McQuaid, was on faculty at St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, NJ. He went on leave of absence in 1985 and at some point became a priest of the Byzantine Eparchy of Passaic.

Administrator at Blessed Trinity when named publicly in 6/18 as having been accused of the sexual abuse of a minor, ages 15-17, 1975-77. Per Attorney Mitchell Garabedian, the alleged abuse began when Valenti was a deacon and continued after ordination, to his time at St. Mary’s of the Lake in Ontario NY. The diocese stated that in 2003,the allegation was “investigated, reviewed and determined to be unsubstantiated.” Valenti requested a leave of absence “in order to address this matter.” In 12/18 the Diocese removed him from ministry, stating that, per the Review Board, Valenti had “engaged in objectionable and inappropriate behaviors with minors” in the 1970s.

Named publicly as credibly accused by the Jesuits Northeast Province on its list 1/15/19. It notes reports in 1980 and the 2000s of abuse of minors 1960-80. Worked at McQuaid Jesuit High School in Rochester 1962-65 and 1968-69, and at Regis High School in New York 1969-80. Voelkle left the Jesuits in 1985 and died in 2016. Named in a lawsuit filed in 7/20.

Per diocese in 2002, there were two credible complaints against Vogt, one in 1993 and the other in 2002. Vogt, then 90, was living in a convent infirmary, reportedly frail and with poor memory. He retired in 1982. Four other men also alleged abuse. Vogt reportedly molested pre-teen boys in the 1950s-70s at St. Bridget’s. Assigned to a life of prayer and penance. Died 10/16/06. Lawsuit filed in 6/19 claimed sexual abuse of a boy by Vogt over a two-year period, beginning when the boy was age 5. The abuse allegedly occurred at the Catholic Charities CYO swimming pool and at the boy’s home. Suit filed in 6/19 alleged abuse of a boy, beginning when he was age 5 in the late 1960s. Four more suits filed 8/14/19, all under the NY Child Victims Act. Abuse spanned 1955-80, of boys ages 5-11. Seven new suits in 8/20. By then, at least 46 alleged Vogt victims. (Brother of Msgr. Accused in a lawsuit filed in 1/20 under the NY Child Victims Act of abusing a boy, beginning when the boy was age 10 in 1989 at St. Paul of the Cross in Honeoye Falls. The abuse allegedly continued for four years. Another alleged victim has reportedly also come forward. Vogt died 4/29/17 at age 91.

Charged with possession of having child porn on his computer. Pled guilty 5/05. Sentenced to 15 months in prison in 12/05. Scheduled to be released in early 2007. Was to remain on administrative leave pending a decision by the diocesan review board and, if necessary, by Rome. Volino fought against having to register as a (low level) sex offender but, court ruled in 2/07 that he had to. Per the diocese’s list updated 10/18, Volino was voluntarily laicized.

Holy Cross brother (mis-identified in at least one news report as a Franciscan). Vice-principal of Cardinal Mooney High School in Greece, NY in 9/85 when arrested and charged with kidnapping at gunpoint two boys, ages 11 and 12, and offering them money for sex. The boys got away without physical injury. Walsh was sent to the Servants of the Paraclete in NM for treatment in 9/85. Pled guilty in 1/86 and sentenced to six months in jail. Accused in a 1/20 lawsuit against the Order of sexually abusing a Mooney High School student 1966-69. The abuse allegedly began during counseling sessions, became sadistic, and occurred many times in the school’s locker room, library and rectory and at hotels.

Deacon. Accused in a lawsuit filed in 7/20 under the NY Child Victims Act of abusing multiple children 1975-78, while assigned to St. Thomas the Apostle in Irondequoit. One of the alleged victims was age 5 when the abuse began.

Accused in a lawsuit filed in 7/20 under the NY Child Victims Act of sexually abusing a child 1967-68, beginning when the child was age 11 and Weider was assigned to St. Vincent de Paul in Corning. Weider was involved with CYO and Boy Scouts, and he established a group home for troubled teenage boys in the rectory of Sacred Heart, where he was then pastor. Per the diocesan website in 3/20, Weider resigned from the priesthood in 1980 and was laicized in 2019.

Allegations of abuse beginning about 1983. Pastor of St. John the Evangeiist in 9/93 when he resigned per Bishop’s request. Winterkorn had admitted to a long-term sexual relationship with a female parishioner that began when she was a minor. No criminal charges filed. Privileges removed. Assigned after canonical process to life of prayer and penance, per 6/7/12 notice from diocese.
