Michael S. Smith has devoted his career to pursuing justice for people whose lives have been devastated by the wrongful actions of others. He specializes in helping survivors of sexual abuse through his extensive litigation and investigation experience. Michael is passionate about uncovering the truth and holding the guilty accountable – especially when there is a ‘David versus Goliath’ imbalance of power and resources.
Michael has helped hundreds of people through the biggest challenge of their lives. Before joining Herman Law, his clients included: i) motorcyclists, bicyclists, motorists, and their families, who had suffered horrific injuries or death in traffic collisions; ii) families who lost loved ones in airplane crashes caused by reckless pilots, or manufacturers that prioritized profits over the quality of their products; iii) tenants who were fighting back against unscrupulous landlords; iv) and many others who were grappling with life-changing events.
Michael is admitted to practice in California state and federal courts. He was raised on the East Coast, but has loved living in the Northern California sunshine for more than twenty years. Michael and his wife are raising their two children with the hope they love nature, riding bikes and want to be the third generation of underwater hockey players in the family.
