Melissa has been practicing law in New York for over 23 years. She has a wide range of legal experience including serving as a prosecutor, a defense attorney, personal injury attorney, municipal and civil work. She began her career as an Assistant District Attorney in Orange County, New York, where she was a member of the Special Victims Unit. There she prosecuted cases involving victims of domestic violence and sexual assaults, including sexual assaults against the elderly and against children.
Following a brief time in private practice, Melissa began practicing personal injury defense work where she represented clients in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits. She then went on to become the Corporation Counsel for a small city in Westchester County, New York where she was the chief legal advisor for the staff and boards and defended the City in all personal injury claims and civil claims filed against it. After moving on to manage a small Village in Westchester County, New York as its Village Administrator, Melissa decided to return to the work that was the most fulfilling for her, working to help victims of sexual assaults.
Melissa earned her bachelor’s degree and her law degree from Pace University. She is admitted to practice law in New York and Connecticut.
