Melissa has practiced law in New York for more than 25 years, building a career defined by versatility, public service, and a deep commitment to justice. Her experience spans prosecution, criminal defense, personal injury litigation, and municipal and civil practice. She began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Orange County, New York, serving in the Special Victims Unit. In that role, she prosecuted cases involving domestic violence and sexual assault, including crimes committed against children and the elderly.
Melissa shifted her practice to personal injury defense, representing clients in bodily injury and property damage litigation. She later became the Corporation Counsel for a small city in Westchester County, New York, acting as the chief legal advisor to municipal staff and boards while defending the City in personal injury and civil claims. She subsequently served as Village Administrator for a nearby Westchester community, gaining additional experience in municipal management and governance.
Ultimately, Melissa chose to return to the work she found most meaningful—advocating for and supporting victims of sexual assault.
She earned both her bachelor’s degree and her law degree from Pace University and is admitted to practice law in New York and Connecticut.
