MERCEDES ROBERTSON

Mercedes is an experienced trial and appellate attorney with a background in both criminal and civil litigation. She graduated cum laude from Washington College earning a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology. Thereafter, she earned her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law.

Following law school, Mercedes had the privilege of serving as a law clerk for the Honorable Thomas M. Brown, J.S.C. in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Mercer County Criminal Division. After completing her clerkship, Mercedes was sworn in as a Deputy Attorney General for the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office in its Division of Criminal Justice, where she prosecuted criminal trials and appeals. During her time as a DAG, Mercedes primarily prosecuted crimes involving the distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material. She also represented the State in appeals before the Appellate Division and Supreme Court involving child sexual abuse, human trafficking, Megan’s Law, and sexual assault.

Prior to joining Herman Law, Mercedes was an associate attorney at a national insurance defense firm where she primarily represented clients in professional liability and employment matters. After gaining valuable civil litigation experience, Mercedes is excited to return to her passion zealously representing victims and use the skills she has learned throughout her career to advocate for victims of sexual abuse.
