1 800 686 9921Father Ronald Dorsey was ordained in 1956 as a member of the Clerics of Stigmatine Sons of the Sacred Heart (CSS), a religious order whose seminary was located in Waltham, Massachusetts. Allegations against him are connected to his time as a Stigmatine seminarian in the Boston area.
In 2004, a civil lawsuit accused Father Ronald Dorsey of sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy in approximately 1955 at Camp Wyoma in Hinsdale, Massachusetts, while he was a seminarian at the Stigmatine Fathers Seminary in Waltham.
Father Ronald Dorsey appears to have left the Stigmatine order around 1969 and relocated to Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico, where he became active in local parish life and co-founded a charitable organization supporting underprivileged children and young adults in the region. He died in July 2008.

Survivors of sexual abuse by Father Ronald Dorsey may have grounds to pursue civil claims against the Clerics of Stigmatine Sons of the Sacred Heart and potentially other institutions for alleged failures connected to his ministry. The 2004 civil lawsuit alleging abuse of a 12-year-old boy at Camp Wyoma in Hinsdale — while Father Ronald Dorsey was a Stigmatine seminarian in the Boston area — raises questions about what oversight and supervision, if any, the Stigmatine order provided during his formation years.
Civil litigation may allow survivors to seek access to internal records, personnel files, and communications from relevant institutions through the discovery process. These proceedings can explore what institutions knew about Father Ronald Dorsey’s alleged conduct and what steps, if any, were taken in response.
When survivors pursue civil claims, they seek not only personal redress but may also expose systemic failures that allowed abuse to continue within institutional settings. For some survivors, civil litigation may provide an opportunity to seek compensation for lifelong impacts, which may include therapy costs, lost opportunities, pain and suffering, and profound personal harm. For many survivors, the process of pursuing civil accountability may offer a measure of affirmation and a means of challenging the institutional power that enabled abuse.
Every survivor deserves compassion and acknowledgment. This video explains how civil law empowers individuals harmed by clergy abuse to pursue accountability and closure. Justice extends beyond courtrooms; it allows survivors to reclaim their voice and aids them on their healing journey. Survivors across Massachusetts continue proving that truth carries strength and healing begins with being heard.
