1 800 686 9921Father Robert S. Kaszynski — known to many parishioners as “Father K” — resigned from ministry in March 2002 following allegations that he had sexually abused at least two teenage girls in the 1960s and 1970s. A separate allegation by another woman was made in May 2002. By September 2002, the Bristol County District Attorney’s office had documented four allegations against Father Kaszynski, all of which were beyond the statute of limitations for criminal prosecution. He was subsequently included on the Diocese of Fall River’s list of credibly accused clergy published in January 2021. Father Kaszynski passed away on February 7, 2014.
The Diocese’s inclusion of Father Kaszynski on its credibly accused list reflects a broader reckoning with institutional accountability and validates the experiences of those who came forward. These allegations — and the institutional response to them — underscore the lasting harm that clergy sexual abuse inflicts on survivors, often carrying consequences that extend for decades after the abuse itself.
With decades of dedicated advocacy, we have held abusers and institutions accountable, helping survivors secure justice and the resources to move forward.
For over two decades, we have focused solely on advocating for survivors, combining legal skill with compassion to guide them toward justice and healing.
We are honored to have guided thousands of survivors through the legal process, offering support, advocacy, and the resources they need to reclaim their lives.
Survivors who experienced sexual abuse by Father Kaszynski are encouraged to contact an attorney to explore what civil legal options may be available to them under Massachusetts law. While criminal prosecution is no longer possible due to the statute of limitations, civil proceedings may provide a meaningful path to formally confront the abuse, seek compensation, and obtain acknowledgment of the trauma endured — options that are important not only for individual healing, but for holding institutions accountable.
Engaging in the civil process may allow survivors to reclaim control over their own stories and ensure their voices are heard in a formal, legal context. Civil action can also reinforce the responsibility of the Church and associated institutions, contributing to the systemic accountability and reform that protects future generations. If you or someone you know may have been harmed by Father Kaszynski, contact Herman Law today for a confidential consultation to learn whether a civil claim may be available to you.
