1 800 686 9921Father Andrzej Jacek Kozanko, originally from Poland, was ordained in 2000 and served in various parish and chaplaincy roles while incardinated in the Diocese of Fall River, including work as a parish priest, hospital chaplain, and counselor at a youth camp during his seminary summers.
In January 2021, the Diocese of Fall River publicly included his name on its list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor, and his faculties were restricted as part of that action.

Survivors of sexual abuse by Father Andrzej Jacek Kozanko may pursue civil claims against the Diocese of Fall River, which publicly included his name on its January 2021 list of credibly accused clergy and restricted his faculties as part of that action. His roles as parish priest, hospital chaplain, and camp counselor during seminary summers gave him access to minors across multiple settings, raising questions about the oversight the Diocese provided in each of those roles and whether concerns were ever documented or addressed during his ministry.
Civil litigation may compel the Diocese to produce internal records and personnel files that may clarify what officials knew about Kozanko’s conduct during his assignments and what steps were taken in response to the allegations that informed the Diocese’s credibility determination. The Diocese’s own finding that the allegations met its internal standard may provide a foundation for civil claims examining the institutional supervision provided during his ministry.
For survivors, civil proceedings may provide compensation for therapy, emotional distress, and long-term psychological harm, while also producing a formal record that holds the Diocese accountable for its supervisory responsibilities across each of Kozanko’s documented ministry roles.
