Michael Cohen, Trump’s prior lawyer, who is currently serving a prison sentence has asked to be placed at home because of the fear of coronavirus in federal lockup. Federal prosecutors with the Southern District of New York argued Cohen’s request was no different than any other inmate and there are no circumstances to prove he should have any special treatment.
Prosecutors wrote a letter to the Judge; “Cohen has not even attempted to argue that he is uniquely at risk as compared to other inmates. Nor could he: He is 53 years old and in good health. As such, Cohen’s claim applies equally to every inmate in the BOP’s care (or at least every non-violent inmate),”.
Cohen is currently located at the Federal Correctional Institution, Otisville upstate serving a 3 year sentence after being proven guilty for violating campaign finance laws during his term working under Donald Trump’s Presidential bid. He has admitted to helping arrange hush money payments to then porn star Stormy Daniels as well as Playmate Karen McDougal, both women have claimed to have had affairs withTrump during his marriage to Melania. Trump has continued to deny these allegations from these women.
