The School Board of Volusia County Sued for Failing to Protect Autistic Student from Known Sexual Predator Who Was Later Convicted of Manslaughter
WHAT: JEFF HERMAN (www.hermanlaw.com), a nationally-recognized attorney for victims of sexual abuse in schools and daycare centers, announces the filing of a lawsuit against THE SCHOOL BOARD OF VOLUSIA COUNTY for failing to protect a disabled students from sexual assaults by Marcus White, a classmate and known sexual predator.
According to the Complaint:
- John Doe who is autistic was a student at New Smyrna Beach High School. John Doe was sexually assaulted on numerous occasions by Marcus White. Prior to the abuse of John Doe, the school received reports that Marcus White sexually abused another student.
- John Doe was afraid to report his abuse until he learned Marcus White was in jail after being convicted of manslaughter in the death of his own father.
