NEWS CONFERENCE TODAY: Henry Hopper accuser breaks her silence

***MEDIA ALERT***
NEWS CONFERENCE TODAY AT 1 PM

Henry Hopper accuser comes forward to discuss rape allegations and the actor’s role in her emotional breakdown

WHAT: Jane Doe, the teenage girl who alleges she was raped at age 15 by Dennis Hopper’s son, Henry Hopper, will speak out for the first time about her alleged encounters with the up-and-coming actor. To help Jane break her silence, she and her mother retained JEFF HERMAN (www.hermanlaw.com), a nationally-recognized attorney for victims of sexual abuse, to represent them in the sexual abuse lawsuit against Hopper. Jane and her attorney will speak to the media about the allegations against Hopper and the psychological and emotional injuries Jane continues to suffer. They will also speak with Dr. Drew on his HLN program tonight.

According to the Complaint:

-In 2011, Jane Doe was introduced to Henry Hopper through Facebook by a mutual friend, and they began messaging each other on Facebook.  At that time, Henry Hopper was 20 years old and Jane Doe was 15 years old.

-On or about April 21, 2011, Hopper paid for a taxi to bring Jane to his home.  Once Jane Doe was there, Hopper gave her drugs and alcohol. With Jane Doe in this vulnerable condition, Henry Hopper raped Jane Doe.

-Over about the next 10 months, there were more incidents in which Hopper again had Jane Doe brought to his house, furnished her with drugs and alcohol, and then raped her.  These encounters were initiated through sexual Facebook messages from Hopper to Jane Doe.  These sexual messages included, among other things, a request that Jane Doe send him photos of her so she can “pleasure him from afar”; and being into a “school girl vibe” when “doin the nasty” with Jane Doe.

The victim’s attorney, Jeff Herman, said, “Despite moving away from her home in LA and having undergone multiple mental health hospitalizations, my client continues to suffer. By sharing her story, it is my hope that Jane will feel empowered to begin her healing process.”
