A Whitmore Lake man who invented a game in order to molest a child at his mother’s day care was sentenced to prison, reports the Detroit Free Press.
Charles Jared Bollinger, 22, was sentenced to 57 months to 15 years in prison for second-degree criminal sexual conduct of a person under age 13.
It was alleged Bollinger invented a “find the object” game to isolate the then-8-year-old girl from the other children in his mother’s Howell-area day care.
Bollinger would tell all the children that they were to go downstairs and find objects he identified, but he had the victim, who he said “was in trouble,” stay behind.
While alone with the girl upstairs, Bollinger forced the girl into sexual activities that involved penetration.
Each time the other children ran upstairs to report whether they were successful in finding whatever object they had been ordered to located, the assaults would stop and Bollinger would pull up his pants.
The girl was assaulted a second time when in the bathroom where he forced her to “make out” with him and to look at his penis as he had a bowel movement.
I applaud this brave victim for coming forward and exposing Bollinger. Because of her bravery, she no longer has to suffer in silence and may have protected others from being preyed upon.
