Day care worker sentenced to life without parole for sexual abuse

Former daycare worker, Heather Koon, was sentenced to life in prison without parole for sexually abusing young children at two daycare centers where she worked, reports The Chronicle.

Koon pleaded guilty to charges she raped the children and sent videos and photos of the abuse to her fiance, James Osborne, a convicted sex offender.

Osborne is currently serving a life prison sentence in the case after also pleading guilty in the case.

At her sentencing, Koon apologized for her actions at ABC Kidz in Elyria and Country Day School in Amherst, swearing that she would never harm another child if she were ever released from prison.

An investigation was launched to look into Osborne not living at the address he was supposed to be living brought Koon’s actions to light.  It was then that investigators discovered the images and videos she had sent Osborne on his electronic devices.

The actions of both Koon and Osborne are horrendous.  I am glad that investigators were able to expose them.  Now that everything is fully out there, I hope the victims in the case can now get the help they need to begin healing.
