 ***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE***

Court allows case to go forward against NYC Department of Education for alleged sexual abuse by Sean Shaynak of a student at Brooklyn Tech HS

WHAT: JEFF HERMAN (www.hermanlaw.com), a nationally-recognized attorney for victims of sexual abuse, announces a Herman Law win: Court granted the Petition allowing the alleged victim, T.T., to file her Notice of Claim against the Department of Education after the 90 day deadline had expired.

According to the decision:

·         The Petitioner demonstrated to the Court that the City had actual knowledge of the essential facts underlying T.T.’s legal claims.

·         The NYC Department of Education would not suffer any prejudice in defending the claim.

·         Accordingly, the petition is granted.

Jeff Herman, the victim’s attorney, stated: “When it comes to protecting children, schools should always make the safest choice.”
