Bullying of a 14-Year-Old Boy Escalated to Sexual Assault, After School Officials Failed to Discipline
WHAT: JEFF HERMAN (www.hermanlaw.com), a nationally-recognized attorney for victims of sexual abuse, announces the filing of a lawsuit against the PALMER TRINITY SCHOOL for the bullying and sexual assault of a male student by three male students at PALMER TRINITY SCHOOL.
According to the Complaint:
- In or about September, 2013, male students at the school began bullying John in the form of homosexual slurs.
- School officials were often present during the bullying and use of gay slurs against John by the other boys.
- On a bus ride to a track event, while John was asleep on the seat, one of the boys partially inserted a plastic bottle into John’s rectum, penetrating his anus, while another boy took a video of it.
- On or about October 11, 2013, John was waiting to begin track practice when the same three boys initiated a physical altercation. They pushed and punched John in the genital area. As a result, John had bleeding from his testicles, and suffered permanent hip damage.
JOHN DOE NO. 132. v. PALMER TRINITY SCHOOL was filed yesterday in The Circuit Court of the 11th Judicial Circuit
Jeff Herman, the victim’s attorney, stated: “A school must never needlessly endanger children. When it comes to protecting kids, schools should always make the safest choice.”
