Madeleine Skaller is a Lead Attorney at Herman Law dedicated to representing survivors of sexual abuse with rigor, care, and resolve. Her practice is grounded in trauma-informed advocacy and a commitment to meaningful accountability.
In addition to individual representation, Madeleine has played a key role in developing impact litigation aimed at exposing patterns of abuse and driving institutional reform. Her work reflects a broader commitment to using civil litigation as a tool for both justice and prevention.
Currently, Madeleine serves as the Vice President of the LGBT Bar Foundation of Greater New York where she oversees a weekly free legal clinic offering competent and compassionate legal services to members of the public.
In 2023, Madeleine was given the Outstanding Dedication Award by the LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York. Madeleine has also been selected as a SuperLawyers Rising Star from 2020-2025. In 2024, Madeleine was a featured panelist at the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault’s The State of Sexual Violence Response in New York City Conference. These honors reflect Madeleine’s standing in the legal community and her dedication to fighting for the rights of survivors.
Madeleine earned her bachelor’s degree at Cornell University and graduated with honors from The George Washington University Law School. While in law school, she served as the Senior Articles Editor for the Journal of Environmental and Energy Law and competed regularly on the Moot Court and Alternative Dispute Resolution Boards. Her legal writing has been published in the San Joaquin Agricultural Law Review.
