Britt Karp brings her experience representing both individual plaintiffs and corporate defendants to her passion for justice for victims of sexual abuse.

Britt has settled numerous cases at mediation, first-chaired four cases at trial and second-chaired five more, recently assisting on a trial which was the second highest jury verdict in a police shooting case in California. Prior to joining Herman Law, Britt worked for Alexander Morrison + Fehr LLP representing wronged employees and other victims of civil rights violations, the Ellis Law Corporation representing injured individuals, and for Selman Breitman LLP where she handled insurance coverage litigation.

Britt was named a Southern California “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine from 2020-2024 and one of the Up-And-Coming 100 Lawyers and Up-and-Coming 50: Women Southern California Rising Stars for 2023 – 2024. Britt is a graduate of the Consumer Attorney Association of Los Angeles’ (CAALA) Plaintiff Trial Academy.

Britt earned her J.D. from Southwestern Law School’s accelerated 2-year J.D. program in 2011. While in law school, Britt was part of the Moot Court Honors Program and won the best brief award at the National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition. Britt graduated cum laude from Occidental College in 2009, with a B.A. in sociology. Britt also earned a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from California State University – Northridge in 2024. Britt has devoted her free time to public interest issues by volunteering with Neighborhood Legal Services’ Workers’ Rights Clinic, interning with the ACLU Jails Project, and serving as a mentor with the I Have A Dream Foundation.

Britt grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She enjoys playing softball, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and yellow lab.
