Brian Plummer

Lead Trial Attorney
Brian Plummer- 8547

Brian has developed substantial trial experience in his years of private practice in the practice areas of personal injury, consumer protection, FELA, employment, and professional malpractice. Thus far, he has tried over 20 jury trials to verdict. He has also attended the prestigious ABOTA/TIPS National Trial Academy. He has also handled several appellate matters including cases in front of the California Courts of Appeal and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has published several articles on litigation practice and presented at several Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) events on the subject of litigation and trial practices. Brian is also admitted to practice in all federal courts in California.

In 2024, Brian obtained board certification in Civil Trial Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. The elaborate screening of credentials that all NBTA board certified attorneys must successfully complete includes demonstration of substantial trial experience, submission of judicial and peer references to attest to their competency, attendance of continuing legal education courses, submission of legal writing documents, proof of good standing and passing of an examination. Approximately three percent of American lawyers are board certified, and Brian is now a member of a very select group who have taken the time to prove competence in their specialty area and earn board certification.

In his career, Brian has managed legal offices for Fortune 150 companies including Union Pacific Railroad Company and Mercury Insurance Company. While managing the legal offices of Union Pacific Railroad Company, Plummer served as a trial lawyer in civil litigation and personal injury defense, supervising attorney of in-house and outside counsel, and as consulting counsel in corporate, governmental, and public affairs.

In 2005, Brian graduated magna cum laude from University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and was inducted into Order of the Coif. While in law school, he served as a judicial extern for Judge Frank C. Damrell, Jr. in U.S. District Court for Eastern District of California. He also won several mock trial competitions in law school, including competing in the NITA Tournament of Champions. That same year, he was admitted to the California State Bar. Three years prior, he graduated with honors from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication. During that time, he participated in Cross Examination Debate Association (C.E.D.A.) debate and earned top honors at multiple national tournaments.

Outside of his legal career, he has served as a planning commissioner for the city of Lincoln, as an executive board member of the Lincoln Youth Soccer Club, and a high school football announcer for Western Sierra Collegiate Academy home games. He and his wife are proud parents of their three children.
